THE END - The last day !!!

Hello, tonight is the night. The last night. All or nothing. Our final shoot day/night is starting tonight at 7 pm 'til 7 am. Our martini shot will probably be at 6:30 am. If we make it?!? I am pretty sure I will write my final report from the set tonight. And lets not forget that the pictures on twitter will be intense as well. You shall see... h

Day 22

Oh boy, the intensity is incredibly strong. Everybody knows it is coming to an end. Not only the box of shadows knows but also the crew, cast - everybody. It seems like the coffin is taking advantage of the situation. Arguments become more intense and violent! Day 21

Hi, we have definitely entered the showdown. Technically everything is going well. It is pretty clear that Borrelli and his Team have created a Cult Movie. We have amazing footage , the acting is superb - it looks fantastic!!! But, ... the box of shadows is becoming very powerful. We had our second animal scene last night. Remember Mauro's dog almost being killed by the killer dogs from hell. And than we had ants attacking Naomi . It is pretty clear that animals have another sense and they can tell that something powerful is present. We had a goldfish scene to shoot and the goldfish was fine until we brought in the box of shadows. First he started swimming really fast and frantic but than he started swimming backwards and finally jumping out of the bowl. We have it all on film - it was the craziest thing. We might end up using the real panic footage from our little goldfish - which is by now in a special treatment center in Los Angeles. Looks like early retirement too me. While the goldfish went crazy we of course had all our UFO's up in the sky and of course most of our car batteries dying again. Really, yesterday it seemed like that the box of shadows was super unhappy. We have gotten to a point that we try as much as we can to shoot around the evil entrapment machine. At one point Mauro had the coffin put outside, away from location to have things go smoother - and to start a couple of cars! On top of it we had another PA disappear. PA Mike is now gone too. PA Frank is stilled missed (were ever he is???) We have three more days to shoot and everybody is getting worried. I'll be back on set tonight and report back to you guys. Wish me luck... h

The Final Week!!!!!!

The last week has arrived. Is it coming to a showdown with the box of shadows? Things are definitely getting intense. But at least we are almost on schedule. We might have to add one more day in the end but that's not bad. Unless the box troughs us a couple of bigger obstacles in the way . I will keep you updated from the final week of evil... h

Shoot Day 17

Hi there, last night was another intense shoot. Especially for me since my car broke down on the way to the set. I had to tow it back to headquarters. While I was dealing with my car, the actors were climbing and fighting on the set and trying to survive the box of shadows presents. Check out the pictures on www.twitter.com/boxofshadows. Maybe I shouldn't complain. At least I was further away from the box. It looks like we are all together a bit behind schedule which is actually a good sign. Because Mauro Borrelli always likes to shoot more and different angels and he always comes up with brilliant new ideas to shoot a specific scenes. I can't wait for the outcome!!! You shall see...

Start Week 4 - Day 16

Hello there, I am still at home. It is 2 pm. Tonight I am holding force at headquarters and Gabriella Stollenwerck (Ex. Producer) will be on the set and take pictures. We will switch shifts at 1 am. Another long one. So far - so good. Our Art Department will bring the coffin from where ever and hopefully everything will be fine. I'll let you know. h

Two Days OFF !!!

Hi, the last two days were completely quite. Mauro told me that he had stored the box of shadows somewhere outside the city. I assume it's the Mojave Dessert. That would be my guess. We are back tonight in Woodland Hills. Maybe he'll tell me. I'll let you know. the neighbors of our location have heard rumors about the box and are not happy. We have to park one mile away from the location and one by one arrive so we don't arrows suspicion. Greate! h

Shoot Day 15

Hello, the spirits were very good when I arrived on set about 9:30pm. I was a bit late but i think "Big Dave" was glad seeing me arriving with 5 Pizza. Big Dave is our 2.AD. And he is also one of our backbones right next to Matt. And you wont believe what I found out - yesterday Mauro brought a fake coffin to the set. It was the Box of Shadows Stand In. Thats why nothing happened - now It all makes sense. Mauro explained that he had a couple of super important stuff he needed to get into "the can" yesterday and didn't wanted to take any risks. Besides it was much cheaper with the old actress being so paranoid! That's why there were no glowing lights in the sky. Mauro didn't wanna tell me were he stored the box of shadows last night. He did look a bit bedazzled. The second we started using the real coffin to shoot - it started to play the music - the hole set seemed to be transformed into a slow motion world . It was really surreal. I left right after that. I can't effort any more bad luck. The shoot itself is going really good. Our footage looks amazing. I can't believe this marks the end of week three. Shoot Day 14

Hi there, It is 4:15 in the morning and I just came back from the set. The night went good and we were all night in one location. We could make up for lost time. Check out the pictures on twitter.com/boxofshadows. Liz Fenning and Jeff Walter Holland had some really good intense scenes. The special effects are coming along as well just superb. The box was present and just for you guys i hugged it. There is proof on a twitter picture. We shall see what's gonna happen. Maybe it brings me closer to my missing dog Dexter. Only one car broke down and we didn't see any glowing lights. It's strange . It was very quite. It seemed like no evil was present. Really good smooth filmmaking. But what do they say "It's not over 'till its over". We are shooting until 7 am. I will report back around tomorrow noon for the latest update of evil. h

Shoot Day 13 !!!

Hi, we all expected something really bad to happen . Since it is the 13 th shoot day and the box of shadows was present on the set. The shoot went smooth. It became clear that the box is no cliche' or some stereotype. Well. We had to pay our actress a bit more money to come back to the haunted set. But nothing happened to her. But the Directors Wife Naomi set in the middle of the night close by the box and was attacked by thousands of ants! It was the spookiest visual I've ever seen!!! She is ok but was very shocked. And of course the usual - all cars are breaking down in the parking lot , People are missing and we still see those orange glowing lights every night over LA and Hollywood!! Please - has anybody seen them? Is that the new Japanese Space station they sent into orbit? But the lights are too big. And always over were the box is stored. We have to move the box by now every night to a different location so we spread the damage. It is getting more and more difficult to find volunteers . The other night we had to store it in the truck and parked the truck on the street. The next morning there was a mass coalition accident on that intersection. Well, we are half way there and than ... THE NEWS : !!!!!!!!! After the Shoot the Box of Shadows is for sale on EBAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Day 12

Hello, I thought it's maybe time to change my greeting. We are definitely in the middle of making a horror movie. And last night .. - one of our lead actors , Jared Grey who plays Platt got killed. That's right. First one to go. Character Platt. We also had a stuntman hurting himself pretty good by faking Platt's death. It was intense. By the way, Jared did a fantastic acting job 'til the end. And now again, of course, the update for our hard core fans. First, Mauro Borrellis dog Sai is suppose to be in one scene ( like in every movie these days - kind of a trademark?) but got attacked and almost killed by two hugh dobermans. The devils gate keepers. Remember "The Omen"? Sai survived and made it into the film. Come to think of, my dog ran away as well when he first came in close contact with the coffin. Dexter (my dog) is missing now for 1 month. And because of all that one of our actresses doesn't want to come back to the set because she is afraid. She really believes the movie set is haunted. Funny enough I must say , in the movie she is playing a ghost. You might remember her from the first images on twitter. The old grey lady dressed in black. She looks really scary and she is actually a fantastic actress. Now I must go and rest before another looooong night shoot. h

Day 11

Hi, and I thought I would be safe at home. Being far away from the Box of Shadows once you made contact with it doesn't matter too much. The night before last I got extremely ill and couldn't go to the set. I am lucky that our Fan-Update Team/West Coast (Naomi Borrelli) and our Fan-Update Team/East Coast (Fourniercommunications) are working together like clockwork. They exchanged awesome images from our Library shoot and kept the twitter updates on top of the game. Thanks A-Team. The movie is definitely developing into a class of it's own. You can already tell by the amount of help we are getting from day one. We thought by week two our crew would have shrunk to half the size. We're having people working on the set for 12 hrs a day - for free!!!!! These guys rock!!! Our crew has grown from 12 to 31!!! More and more people hear rumors on the street and on the world wide web and want to be part of Horror History! This is really touching - for all of us. We are growing into a really cool Horror Filmmaker Family - and you are part of it!!!!!! THANKS FANS/MEMBERS H

Day 10 - Week 3

Hi there, today was a mixed day of intense acting in the locker room scenes and exciting filmmaking in the shower scene - all together - we got what we wanted - scenes that were elevated to a supernatural true reality. Bravo Crew. I was talking to our casting director and acting coach on set Pamela Shae ( super talented - super cute!). She is completely pleased by the level of acting that is presented to us on a daily bases. She helped me in my scene with some really important details. Thank's Pam. She also saw three nights in a row the strange UFO' Objects above LA. With a little research I found out that were ever Pam saw the glow lights in the sky over a certain area in LA - that's were the Box of Shadows was stored that night. Today the box was far away from the set and things went pretty smooth. We'll see what's gonna happen tonight away from the set. I'm staying in. I should be save right here. Day Off !

The city seems very quite - but there is a pulse - it has the same essence as the silence before a storm. Or a Dragon taking a deep breath before spitting fire. The Box of Shadows doesn't seem to take days off. I can feel it's presents from even far away. I can tell it will strike very hard next week. We haven't seen nothing yet. The only good thing is that tomorrow the coffin will not be on the set. First of all we are shooting in a church and the Priest didn't allow us to bring the coffin. We told him what it is and were it's from. He must have sensed something??? Or does he know more than he says??? - I must find out. Following right after this set is our Gym/shower room scene with 6 to 8 gorgeous women - well... showering!!! Sorry- no pictures allowed on that set. For that you gotta go and see the movie in less than 1/2 year. But by the time you arrive at that scene you are probably soooo scared that any nudity doesn't matter anymore. Now I must go and rest. Preparing for next week ... h PS : PA Frank is not coming back. Apparently he left the country!?!

End of Week 2

Good morning, It is 5:30 am and I just got back from the set. If you haven't seen the images, go to twitter/boxofshadows. They are incredible. Tonight was as intense as predicted. We had a lot of stunts and violence and horror on the set. AND - BLOOD!!! Also finally back on set was Domiziano Arcangeli. One of our finest talents who plays "Marcus the Drug Dealer" - and he is no Joke. Every time he is on set , things get real and deep. The backbone that can hold a film together like a Drummer does to it's band. He is also an Executive Producer on the film. You should check it out on IMDB. The amount of Talent working on this film is record breaking. Now the update for our hard core fans. What about the evil energy coming from The Box of Shadows? NOW - believe it or not but for the last two nights we have been seeing - well - kinda UFO 's . Strange zig-zag format flying glowing balls over Downtown Los Angeles, were we shoot. Or should I say: Right above The Box of Shadows. Anybody living in the close range of L.A. , or anybody in the USA with a really good Telescope - HAVE YOU SEEN IT TOO!!! We should keep an Eye out - let's not forget that we have to finish a movie. Even if it means fighting evil! h PS ; ... and still missing PA Frank ???

Shoot Day 9

Hi, tonight will mark the end of shoot week 2. I will hold force at one of the headquarters while G. Stollenwerck will be overlooking the set. At midnight we'll switch shifts and I'll be on the set 'till 5am and she'll be in headquarters. What a life. We will both send pictures to twitter/boxofshadows for updates. And of course I'll let everybody know if more strange things are happening around the box. We shall see... h PS. and I'll let you know if we find our PA (Production Assistant)

Shoot Day 8

Hi , the nights are getting longer and the crew is getting tired. It's almost the end of the second week and everybody needs rest. Mauro couldn't sleep the night before (he has two 2 year old's - uffgh) but the lack of rest brought out the necessary intensity needed. The fight scene was awesome and we were glad we had our stuntman for that. You will flip out when you see the outcome which will be CGI supported ( One of Mauro Borrelli's specialty). The Box of shadows aka Coffin did arrive on the set and when you look at the picture you know it is bad news. The second the coffin arrived we were told that none of our trucks can start. All batteries were dead - true story! One PA disappeared and... there is a strange energy happening. Will things get worse?

Hi there, I couldn't go to the set yesterday but hearing from G. Stollenwerck things were tuff but in the end we got everything in the "Can" what we wanted. Call time today is at 6pm - till 5 am. Ouuuch. I will take pictures on the set and send them to twitter/boxofshadows. You can go there and check them out. At this point we are still on schedule and the footage looks fantastic. But not only because we are shooting on the new "RED" Camera - the acting provided by the entire cast and the spontaneous creative directions by Borrelli is elevating the movie into a class of its own. Day 5 - Nightshoot

The shoot is going fantastic but a lot of interesting and strange things are happening. The night when we shot in the Liquor Store one of our PA's got mugged on the street. Yesterday at the gym location the owner didn't show up for two hours. I had a crew of 25 people standing around. But at least he came and meanwhile me and Mauro found another Gym. Improve is always required. Now the old Willow Studios downtown is scary enough on it's own and with the Box of shadows arriving tonight - well, we shall see h

Day 4 of the shoot "Boxofshadowsthemovie.com"

Hi there, I could not report yesterday since I was too involved in the filming. But we had very intense moments of a ghost and a overdose scene and the establishment of the characters and the undertone of evil rising . This is going to be one of the first contemporary horror movies of this millennium which will hit deeper and sharper than before. Trust me. You shall see BOS

Second Shooting Day

Hi there, today we had a bunch of intense scenes to shoot. The drug dealer scenes in the RV were amazing and sooooo intense. We were in there all day baking like in a sauna. But everybody has at least a good understanding of what kind of new horror we are creating . This film is going to be biiiiiiiiig!

First day of the shoot

Today at 7:30 am we all met at the producers house (Gabriella Stollenwerck) which is also part of our set. We have been shooting for some hours now and things are looking good and scary.

Quiet before the storm

It is sunday, June 28 th. It is a beautiful day in Hollywood. The only thing different is the energy in the city. The city seems dead. But there is an undertone. Like a deep inhale of some kind. Nature knows that tomorrow something strange will begin. The Box of Shadows will start to become alive. Evil will take it's first breath. You shall see. h

It is Saturday evening. I am going to the Office tomorrow. I can feel that all the elements are resting and charging for something really spooky to happen. We will capture something really special on film. You shall see.

Three day countdown to The Beginning of Horror

Hi there,

it's only three days until principal photography begins for the feature film "Box of Shadows". Go on YouTube and check out Mauro Borrelli's last shocker "Haunted Forest". There is a cool trailer. On that one, I did Production Design and am the Tourist who gets killed.
